Orbis Green Policy and Governance (Orbis GPG) is a newly established research and policy hub working at the intersection of environmental science, governance, and sustainability. Although Orbis GPG is a new organisation, it builds on over a decade of experience supporting international bodies such as the European Commission, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the European Forest Institute (EFI).
We specialise in applying rigorous research and strategic insight to real-world governance challenges in forest, freshwater and marine systems. We operate as an independent and agile platform for science–policy collaboration, grounded in a strong commitment to sustainability, integrity, and systems thinking.

- We provide evidence-based insights to inform complex policy decisions and promote forward-thinking.
- We challenge existing assumptions and explore new governance models to strengthen the connection between science, policy and practice.
- We translate research into impactful policies that benefit both ecosystems and communities.
- We are dedicated to cutting-edge analytical methods, forward-looking approaches, and collaborative knowledge production to influence the environmental agendas of tomorrow.
